Queen Anne's War (1702-1713)

*Part of The War of Spanish Succession  

 This was the second of what would become many wars fought between France and Great Britain for control of North America. It was directly linked to the War of Spanish Succession in Europe. While the British colonies were subject to brutal raids by French forces and their Iroquois allies; the British succeeded in again capturing Port Royal. The French ruled Acadia would become British, and become Nova Scotia. Following the peace and the Treaty of Utrecht (1713) Britain would also acquire Newfoundland and the Hudson Bay Region (would be part of Rupert's Land) from France. (Encyclopedia Britannica)
